Privacy policy
Effective October 15, 2026
This policy explains how SchoolBoard IQ, a Curated Analytics company ("SchoolBoard IQ," "we," "us"), handles personal information collected through schoolboardiq.com (the "site"). It does not cover information districts provide inside the SchoolBoard IQ service, which is governed by each district's written agreement with us.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us: your name, work email, role, school district, state and anything you write in your message. When you subscribe to our newsletter: your first name and email address.
- Information collected automatically. Our web host keeps basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. If you allow it, analytics and marketing cookies also collect information about how you use the site. See our cookie policy.
The site is not designed to collect student records or other student information. Please do not include student information in the contact form.
How we use information
- To respond to your request, schedule walkthroughs and send sample briefings.
- To follow up about SchoolBoard IQ. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- To send The Board Brief, our free weekly newsletter, if you subscribe and confirm.
- With your consent, to understand how the site is used and to measure our LinkedIn outreach.
- To protect the site, prevent spam and meet legal obligations.
Cookies, analytics and your consent
We only use analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) and marketing cookies (LinkedIn Insight Tag) after you choose to allow them in our cookie banner. Essential storage that remembers your choice is always on. You can change your choices any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, and marketing cookies stay off.
The Board Brief newsletter
When you subscribe on our website, you start receiving The Board Brief, once a week. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link that works instantly, and you can also email us to be removed. We count how many people open each issue and click its links in total, so we can tell what is useful; we do not track what each individual reads. We keep your name and email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and our business, such as our web host (Hostinger), email provider (Google Workspace), the server that runs our newsletter system (Amazon Web Services, which also delivers our emails) and, if you allow them, analytics and advertising measurement providers (Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Under some state laws, allowing LinkedIn's marketing cookies may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising." That only happens if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including Texas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information
- Get a copy of your information in a portable format
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling
How to make a request: email hello@schoolboardiq.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will confirm your identity using the email address you used with us and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
To opt out of cookies: use or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Appeals: if we decline your request, you may appeal by replying with the subject "Privacy appeal." We will respond within 60 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
How long we keep information
We keep contact requests as long as needed to respond and to maintain our relationship with your district, generally no longer than three years after our last contact, unless the law requires longer. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's settings, which we set to 14 months for Google Analytics.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The site is intended for school leaders and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, ask for your cookie consent again.
